New Orleans is one of the world's most fascinating cities. Steeped in a history of influences from Europe, the Caribbean, Africa and beyond, it's home to a truly unique melting pot of culture, food and music. One of the greatest tourist destination in the Southern United States is the French Quarter of New Orleans, the home of Dixieland music. This is where the first Mardi Gras Parade originated.
Here is a sample itinerary for New Orleans, just to give you an idea of what your customized group experience could look like. This trip is based on flying there and back. Your excursion can include any attractions not seen here. If New Orleans has it, we can make sure you see it!
Day 1: Flight to New Orleans, Louisiana. Free-time for dinner on your own. This quaint hotel is located in the heart of the French Quarter. There are restaurants and shops everywhere to suit every taste. The hotel is also a mere 15 minute walk from Harrah’s New Orleans Casino.
Day 2: Included Continental Breakfast at the Hotel. Cajun Pride Swamp Tour we will journey by boat, Cajun style, through the heart of South Louisiana’s swamp lands. Professionally Guided Walking Tour of the French Quarter to include Café Du Monde, Jackson Brewery, St Louis Cathedral, the old Dixeland area and much much more. Evening free to enjoy Riverwalk Mall. It is a half mile long festival marketplace with more than 140 shops right on the mighty Mississippi. Here you can find shops from high tech to high fashion and have time for dinner to enjoy Creole and Cajun cooking. There is live entertainment everyday.
Day 3: Included Continental Breakfast at the Hotel. Destrehan Plantation is where the sands of Louisiana time seem to stand still for a moment. This majestic antebellum home watches over the banks of the great Mississippi River. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Destrehan Plantation was established in 1787 and remains the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi River Valley. Free time at the French Market which combines eating, shopping of every description and entertainment. This is America's oldest city. The market is open from sunup to sundown. Included is a Buffet Dinner Jazz Cruise. When night falls, the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen rises to the occasion. Step on board and cruise into the night where the sleepless activity of America's busiest port buzzes. The sounds of a lively jazz band fill the air as you enjoy a lavish Creole buffet in elegantly appointed dining rooms.
Day 4: Included Continental Breakfast at the Hotel. Aquarium of the Americas where you can see tiger sharks, moray eels, sting rays, horse shoe crabs, piranhas and black footed penguins. The aquarium is situated right on the Mississippi River. Professionally Guided Coach Tour of New Orleans to include Greenwood Cemetery and the Garden District. Free-Time to hear some music on Bourbon Street which contains a mixture of Dixeland and modern music. There is no better way to end your trip then with a Fais-do-do at Michaul’s Live Cajun Music Restaurant. The term “Fais-Do-Do” comes from Cajun French and means make sleep. In the New Orleans area the Term is used for a Cajun dance and is thought to have originated when the parents would tell their kids to Fais-Do-Do so they could go to the dance.
Day 5: Included Continental Breakfast at the Hotel. Flight home from New Orleans, Louisiana.
